The Road Before Us

I’ve often wondered why injustice thrives while truth and honesty remain dammed behind corruption, lies, and misdeeds — a barrier controlled by criminals guilty of horrific crimes against humanity. We long for justice; we crave the truth. Yet none dare throw the first stone, for beneath our polished exteriors lies the same shadowed humanity, the same impulses that bind us to those we condemn.

Perhaps mankind’s deepest flaw is not sin itself, but the fear of confronting it openly. Until the dam bursts, we live in uneasy tension — between revelation and restraint, between the stones we clutch and the sins we hide behind them.

The dam is breaking. It groans. It leaks. It whispers warnings nearly every day. Each secret exposed, each injustice revealed, is another crack in the wall. And still we hesitate, clutching our stones, afraid the flood will carry not only the guilty but ourselves. It will not hold forever. When it breaks, the stones we refused to throw will be swept from our hands, and we will see our own reflection in the lives of all others — flawed, frightened, human.

The road before us waits, silent and unyielding. Above us, the stars burn, reminding us that destiny is not a gift of the pure but a burden carried by the flawed who dare to walk forward. In the end, it is not innocence that opens the way, but courage — the courage to step into the torrent together, flawed yet unafraid. And when the waters rise, it will be less a judgment than a baptism: souls crossing into the current, redeemed as much as condemned.
